Monday Moon Day
In this photo I took just before midnight the cloud slipping past the moon forms a lid and the almost full Luna looks down at us. This look with its sharp angle seems to challenge us or perhaps scrutinize what we are doing. While this is the mood the photo captured it is not how the moon looked in person. Instead, the sharp cloud line was barely visible against the bright details of the lunar surface and the yellowy mist that is hinted at in the photo. Despite this air of scrutiny, as usual I felt comforted when I looked at the moon.
If the moon is out then I usually go out to look at the beautiful dance it does across time. The moon is the foundational cycle of my life. There are hundreds of photos that I've taken over the years of Luna. In the moment I take the photo I want to capture the radiance and light that the moon provides. It's a ritual of mine. Light to light.
