Bewitching Beliefs

Much of my day to day life is built upon a foundation of science, mystery, faith and folklore.

Science

Math and science are arts that have lost their mystical roots, but which still contain wonder and much mystery. I love exploring new technology and following research into areas like astronomy, quantum mechanics, anthropology, and biology. A love of math is the absolute root of my spirituality. The underlying order in the beautiful chaos of Creation, found in Phi, is the basis of many of my beliefs.  The fact that we can influence matter is fascinating. Findings like these are natural revelation. I also follow natural Holy Days, like the Equinoxes and Solstices.

Mystery

Intellectual humility and a never-ending quest are elements of mystery. I've experienced many strange things over the years, sometimes events that I shared with others, and sometimes things that only I could see or hear or feel. Mystery is what drives us forward. None of us can ever know all there is to know. Mystery is why I trust the Divine.

Faith

I put my faith in the Creator. I follow a spiritual path that is derived from Christian spirituality, but I do not agree with much of mainline Christianity. I respect other faiths. I do not hold other gods before the Creator, but I do respect the Gods of others and other religions. To me these other gods and goddesses are archetypes, heroes, and guides, but I respect that to others these are their Divine. I would never try to hurt another's Faith.  I respect the Bible; I do not worship it above God. God is neither male nor female, but is. God is nothing like what we think. I trust God enough that I feel peace. I love the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth and his sacrifice as a true radical and magician of the highest order. I believe.

Folklore

I've lived and traveled across Asia, parts of Mexico, and the United States. The practices and beliefs of people are incredibly interesting to me. Stories, fairy tales, charms and spells intrigue me. I believe the land holds the energy of its people, animals and plants. We can access this and be a part of it through our practices.

So what does this all mean?

I'm a sojourner. I'm a believer. I'm a witch. I love.
